Very heavy construction, typical of early bulletproof armour. Peascod form with pronounced medial ridge. Rolled edges at arms and flanged neck. Inside blackened. Scattered pitting overall, but very good condition for age. Very similar to breastplate in Plate 155, page 141 in Petersons Arms and Armor in Colonial America, which dates ca. 1625.
