Eversharp Doric "Slender" Model 1931-1935 for parts Up for auction is this 12-sided Wahl Eversharp Doric “slender” model in green-veined brown marble for parts. The clip style attests to a manufacture date between 1931 and 1935. It is a small pen with measurements as follows: Capped 4.36” (110.68 mm); posted 4.86” (124.28 mm); cap OD 0.50” (12.70 mm); barrel OD 0.44” (11.11 mm). T are 3 major problems with his pen: 1) T is a crack w the clip enters the cap. (The picture included shows only one side of the crack. It extends another 3/16ths of an inch (4.76 mm) on the other side of the clip as well.) 2) The cap threads no longer engage those of the barrel properly with the result that the cap does not screw down securely. It will tighten, then spin loose again, and can be pulled off the barrel with light pressure even when tightened. 3) The nib’s tines are badly splayed, with one of the tines being slightly twisted and bent. The pen’s gold furniture is, in general, in very good condition: While the clip does exhibit a fair amount of high-point brassing, the lever and cap band are nearly free of brassing. The plastic surfaces of barrel and cap (aside from the above noted crack) are smooth and glossy, showing upon examination only one small, shallow blemish on a couple of the facets near the bottom of the barrel.
