NOTE: It is DIFFICULT TO TAKE A PHOTO that does these images JUSTICE due to GLARE from the camera. CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION,,,,, This is antique piece is in SUPERB, dare I say MINT? condition! OLD OLD OLD circa 1800s daguerreotype? or ambrotype? images in a FABULOUS Gutta Percha? case. I am not an expert on these, but they are FRESH FROM THE ATTIC of a New England estate. Obviously, these were cherished and exceptionally well taken care of. No breaks or chips. hinges are perfect. Case is ornate? See SCAN image, but image is clearer as the movement of the scan caused a little glare. Looks like pink tint on cheeks of man and woman. Man: Stern looking man in formal black suit. Woman: Black silk? fancy formal dress with fingerless black gloves. Images are clear as a bell and blemish free except for a slight darkness to the right background of the woman. Nice, heavy piece. Ornate case looks like bakelite? But from reading other posts, I am assuming Gutta Percha, you are the experts. Closed, the case measures 3 1/2" wide by 3 14/16" (approx) ORIGINAL AND ANTIQUE. FABULOUS PIECE IN VERY RARE CONDITION!!!! Shipping quote for USA only - all others email for quote through ebay "ask a question". Insurance is recommended but optional at buyer's risk.
