EX. LARGE PRIMITIVE 42'' WOODEN~DOUGH ~TRENCHER~BOWL~GREAT OLD METAL REPAIR This auction is for a very large primitive dough bowl/ trencher. This is another great trencher, that I recently acquired from a European Importer. I was able to pick up 2 this time, this is the smaller of the two, and still really large! Want both? Email me a special deal on both! This is a wonderful trencher, and it's just perfect for a harvest table, holding firewood, and so much more! It would make a wonderful centerpiece on the hearth, a counter, or table with pine cones, pine boughs, etc... Since it was handcarved from a solid piece of wood, it has it's own unique shape . The carving on the bowl really shows on the underside and the inside on the ends. It has natural color and a sealer on it, probably to preserve the wood. This bowl was made from a wood type that shows some burl, on one end and on the sides, it's really pretty. The metal repair on the back was done with small tacks or nails which show through a bit on the inside, but they are pretty smooth, so no issue really. The part I really appreciate on this trencher is the metal repair done over a stress split. It was done well and is stable.
