As a collector for over 35 years and a longtime member of the TCA and NASG, while I try to follow the TCA grading standards for my listings, grading is also a very subjective matter and I also described this listing from what I consider to be a reasonable person's perspective. If the listing states that a test run was performed, it means the loco was briefly bench tested to ensure that the motor (and headlight if applicable) work and that the unit moves. Sound systems (horns, whistles, etc.), smoke units and other operating parts and systems are not tested unless the listing states otherwise. DESCRIPTION: Up for bid is an American Flyer (by A.C. Gilbert) 803 Sante Fe Box Car. This is a real beauty and is graded "Excellent + (borderline Like New)". There is very little wheel wear and the 2 paper "Sante Fe' logo labels are in wonderful condition.The original factory box/carton was not available when I purchased the car. Please refer to the photos above. ABOUT THIS ITEM: This item was originally purchased for my personal collection back in April, 1987. After purchasing and inspecting the car, the car was stored in a plastic bag and a reproduction box where it has remained since then. ITEM INCLUDES: (1956-1957) Sante Fe unpainted tuscan box car with non-opening doors, white lettering with "A.T.S.F./803" and "The Chief/FAMOUS DAILY STREAMLINER/WEST" and Sante Fe Cross logo paper label. Car is equiped with one-piece brakewheel, sheet metal frame, sintered-iron truck sides with knucle couplers and 'slot and screw hole' in body ends. The original, factory box is not included. Also, the section of track shown in the photos above is not included. PLEASE NOTE: This item is considered a STANDARD sized item.
