From a private collection here in Michigan, I am pleased to offer an excellent example of Peaseware this evening. It was made by the Pease family of Ohio in the mid 1800's. Much information is available on the family including the following:American Peaseware. The founder and pivotal figure in the Ohio history of Peaseware was David Mills Pease (1815-1890) founder (1850) of the Pease family woodworking business of Cascade Valley, OH.This example is maple with original surface and typical turned acorn finial. The condition is excellent with no cracks or edge nicks. The hairline you see in the inside of the top is shallow and does not go through to the outside. There is one shallow nick and one minor scratch on the lid (see photos). The lid is typically tight but goes on smoothly when turned. You will look long and hard for this nice an example.Dimensions: 4-1/2" diameter at its widest point x 3-1/4" diameter at the bottom x 5-3/4" tall.I ship to the USA only. I have no reserve on this so have fun! Please check out my other AAFA listings. Please take a moment to read my "fine print" below including a short explanation of AAFA.
