Beautiful piece of rough lapis. The color is an awesome blue and most calcite has been removed by hand and has what appears to be just a little as seen. Please note!! I will be unable to answer questions or deliver from July 4th through July 9th--- This material was hand selected for me upon request and I paid more then normal for that request! Not to mention prices have risen drastically due to shipping costs and general economic woes(what hasn't!) Top grade has a price of $300 to $1000 a kilo! I'm not talking about the layered calcite/lapis/calcite/lapis pieces that are so common (wich cost around $15.00 a kilo) but for solid color material it is VERY expensive. I do start my prices well below wholesale (what someone would pay purchasing bulk quantities) and even well below my cost. Please be aware of light falsification! Lapis gets that purple-ish hue under florescent lighting which does not reflect that color in "natural" light...(outdoors) This is why I always take my photographs outside. This is the most natural setting to see lapis in it's normal state. is some excellent Lapis Lazuli. This is from the Badakhshan Province in Afghanistan . This is a quality piece perfect for the lapidary enthusiast, jeweler or collector. If you've been in the market for lapis, you know It is very difficult to obtain high quality rough lapis these days, Many lapis pieces I've seen have beautiful color, it's just that t is tiny pieces of calcite embedded within (flecks)to make it impossible to cut around. This greatly reduces the grade of lapis, and why the price is so reasonable. I've been dealing with Lapis for several years and always seek out the best possible on the market and a true Lapis enthusiast knows how much quality Lapis costs, especially in single hand select pieces. Now, I do not want to be just the lapis guy, I want to be your knowledgeable lapis guy with a great product at a fair price! I occasionally deal with other material, but lapis is my passion and specialty... Piece measures approximately: 2.97" to 1.39" long X 3.20" to 1.02" (tall) X .58" to .44" deep Weighs: 147.41 grams / 5.19 ounces / 737.05 carats Pictures taken wet to simulate polish(under Sunny skies)... No picture enhancements of any kind, no filters and no dark shadowy pictures. All super bright! . What you see is what the lens picks up. Even the ugliness- Feel free to email me for full resolution pictures...or your lapis requests. Thank you! To save on shipping, I will combine and hold for 30 days , as long as payment is on one invoice. Also, if not happy with item once received, I will refund your money excluding shipping if piece has not been cut or broken . Sellers: Delight buyers. Get your own map of past buyers.
