Exceptional 1764 George III English Sterling Cream Jug is an Exceptional Antique 1764 George III English Sterling Silver Cream Jug in Excellent Condition! It is fully Hallmarked on the bottom of the jug with the Lion Passant for Sterling Silver, The Crowned Leopards Head for London, the Date Letter for 1764 and the Makers Mark. It is truly a Beautiful and Masterfully Crafted Jug that sits upon Three Cast Attached Scrolled Legs with Pad Feet and has a Richly Chased and Embossed Scroll and Foliated Decoration all around the body of the jug. The front has a Wonderful Scrolled Cartouche with the Period initials WA Engraved in a Wonderful Fancy Script Lettering. The Attached Handle is a Thing of Beauty! It is intricately Scrolled with an Acanthus Leaf Decoration on the Thumb Rest Area. The top most edge of this wonderful Cream Jug has a Scalloped Decorative edge. You will go a long way before you run across a finer example of these wonderful George III Cream Jugs!It measures 4 1/4" tall and is 4" across at the spout and handle and weighs 3.6 ounces.This will make a wonderful addition to any Fine Antique Sterling Silver Collection!
