Offering an antique newel post that was salvaged from a demolished victorian home. This is one of the nicest posts i've offered on e bay, beauties like this are getting hard to find. T is a big turned finial at the top with eastlake spoon carvings below then panels with carved dragons on 3 sides, handrail attatched at 4th side. The shaft is fluted with rosettes and 3/4 round columns at the corners. It is notched for the 1st 2 steps and t is a small piece missing at the 2nd step. T are some light cracks, scrapes and dings, overall good condition. Measurements are 65 1/4 inches tall (for scale i stand 6'4") by 8 5/8 square at the base. Questions? feel free to ask and thanks for looking.

Shipping is included in the cost of all my items except large items listed as pick up only. I can personally deliver large items at a rate of $1 per loaded mile from zip 17403. I generally ship within 3 days of receipt but i am on call 24/7 and do get a lot of last minute salvage jobs. I get a call and the demolition contractor tells me i have 2 days to strip an entire house. Some large items may take up to 2 weeks to pack and ship.
I accept returns only if t is an error in the description. If i pull an item from a house that i think is original and is later found out to be a reproduction or if i type an incorrect measurement in the description i will take the item back. I do my best to accurately describe an item and any and all damage or problems. Measurements will be within 1/8 of an inch.
My salvage business was born of necessity. I started restoring an 1896 victorian in 1993 and the house had seen better days. I needed doors and staircase parts among other things. I contacted the owners of several buildings scheduled for demolition and bought the salvage rights to get the items i needed for my house and had a lot left over which i sold. 15 years later this is my full time job. I am always looking to buy salvage rights and architectural antiques, finders fees gladly paid.
