This little Edison GEM has the serial number G149005 and the last patent date of Nov. 17, 1903. It is a Model B with the horn crane socket cast in to the bedplate and was made between 1907 and 1908. The overall condition is exceptional and original--comes straight from my personal collection! The machine not only works well, but is cosmetically superb--excellent black enameling and original gilt pinstriping. I would estimate that the gold pinstriping is perhaps 98% present--nice and shiny! The nickel plating on the mandrel is ORIGINAL and MINT --glistens like new. The lid to this machine is also stunning with the ORIGINAL banner decal which is truly as mint as they get. When I acquired this machine the finish on the top of the lid was weak, but original. I sent the lid to the talented "Phonophan" for a complete cleaning and touch-up. He added some shellac to the lid and hand-polished it to give it some much needed luster. The lid is structurally very tight and the finish/decal is guaranteed original. The original gem morning glory horn is also included. It is very straight and in very good condition. The paint and gem decal are completely original, as is the hanging loop. The paint on the horn was thin when I acquired it--added four coats of hand-rubbed paste wax to protect the original paint and add some sheen. The horn has a few read more
