This is an exceptional vintage custom skinning and/or hunting knife that is simply marked "G. Blair" . This knife is very well made and exhibits a very high level of skill and craftsmanship. It was most definitely made by someone with great experience, someone who had previously made many technical knives. It most certainly not the work of an amatuer or someone's shop/garage project. The design is outstanding and fit and finish are excellent. The photos really don't do this one justice, as it is much nicer in hand and must really be handled to fully appreciate the fine quality. The knife has striking design and great presence. The thick blade is exceptionally well ground and appears to have been hand polished to a deep mirror finish. The steel is of very high quality, although I'm not sure what type. The blade has a razor's edge and will shave with little effort. The grind is very precise and symmetrical with excellent blade geometry. The guard appears to be of nickel silver and is very well executed, providing a smooth transition from blade to handle. The handle is of shaped linen Micarta and is absolutely gorgeous! The handles were shaped with concentric rings center on each side of the handle.
