The best Wallace Nutting Windsor armchair we've owned in years!!! Bowback windsor with carved "knuckles". Made from the top quality era for Nutting, this has his block letter signature and or. paper label. Some people refer to this style windsor as a sack back. This chair has the carved knuckles, bold turnings and THE BEST seat for windsors. Chair has pinned construction throughout. Windsor is made of mixed woods, oak, birch and pine. The seat is pine, great dramatic shape, there are marks along seat which have happen through the chairs life. This was from a leather workers estate and I believe the marks are from cutting the leather on seat! From the making or drying out of the bow there is a slight crack where spindle goes through. Chair also has scuffs and some finish crazing. This was used and enjoyed in its lifetime. A great great example of Wallace Nuttings woodworking shop!
