EXOTO (ITEM # (EX)GPC97194 1953 | Exoto Tipo 500 F2 Ferrari Driven by Jacques Swaters, Winner of the 1953 Grand Prix of Berlin (PRODUCED IN A LIMITED EDITION OF 1,953 PCS WORLD WIDE) Jacques Swaters is a well known name to Ferfafisti as the Ferrari importer for Belgium, but back in 1948, he was only just getting his start in the automotive world by buying his first race car. By 1951, he had bought his first Ferrari, and in 1953 scored his first ever victory behind the wheel of his Ferrari 500 F2 (the same year he started importing Ferraris on the strength of a handshake with Enzo Ferrari. Adorned in "glorious" yellow (the National color of Belgium) the Ecurie Francorchamps entry was frighteningly fast as Swaters battled briefly with a brace of Cooper-Bristol until finally getting away cleanly to win comfortably over the rest of the field. This diecast collectible is new in it's original box with all of the manufacturer's original parts and inner as well as outer packaging. The car was returned to the store by it's original purchaser due to small defects in the paint of the numbering on the car. The car was produced in a limited edition of 1,953 pieces world wide.
