A Brief and Plain Exposition and Paraphrase of the Whole Book of the Revelation, from Chapter to Chapet, and from Verse to Verse, By Samuel Cradock B.D., Sometime Rector of North-Cadbury in Somersetshire by Samuel Cradock, 1696 Samuel Cradock was a Non-Conformist who had to give up his position as a result of the Act of Uniformity, in the latter 17th century. Essentially, the English (Anglican) Church, although it maintain its position as Protestant, against the Roman Catholic Church, issued a set of rules according to which all Christians were to worship. Those who objected to this were ostricized from the Church. Cradock was fortunate enough to inherit a family estate, which he dedicated to tutoring, (he couldn't call it a school), true Biblical Christianity and study. This study on the Book of Revelation is one of the several that he wrote during this time. It is an excellent, thorough study. The book is in its original banding; full calf, with elacorate, blindstamped border to boards. It is missing the label, and has a small piece of leather missing from the front board. It is missing the front fly leaf and possibly a general title, but it retains the original, fold out map, in fine condition, and collates complete. Really, a very nice and thorough, period study that is still being printed today!.
