I just took on a fairly large -- but exciting undertaking. Over the next couple of weeks I will be selling a collection of 50 - 60 Native American Indian vintage/antique items for an elderly gentleman. This individual has collected broadly and well, and has decided to part with his Indian collection at this time. The final two photos show you just some of the items that will be auctioned. He has collected throughout the country for 40+ years, and has some very fine pieces -- in condition, quality and diversity. I queried him to gather as much information as I could on each item. I'm not an expert in Native American items, though I've done some research on his. I'll only be able to list so many auctions at a time, so please don't email me with requests concerning pieces that don't relate to this particular auction. All items will be listed, and -- in fairness to all browsers/bidders -- all auctions will run the full 7 days.

My client can use the funds, and it's a bit difficult for him to part with this particular collection.

This auction is for the large ca: 1920s NAVAJO NAVAHO RUG Blanket you see in the first photos. The piece measures 34" wide, and 62" long. I love this piece -- the natural colors (I'm quite certain that the dyes are natural), the great geometrics, and the condition is remarkable . I seriously can find no holes, loose sections, stains, or repairs. T are a few very small brown wool threads (about 1/2" each) loose on the side trim -- but they're virtually indetectable until you look for them. A piece of fabric has been loosely basted on the back (see photos of back) so a rod can be slipped through and the rug can be displayed on the wall. This is EASILY removed if you wish to. Again, my client looked for the best condition in the pieces he purchased -- and it is very evident in this piece. Thanks for looking, have a great week.
