Extraordinary 18th century French hand painted fan. Fine silk with intricate gold sequin embellishment and hand painted rosettes. Superb courting scene at center is painted with fine details and signed lower right-- appears to read "Augly" or "Angly". Silk is stretcher over intricate carved bone structure. Carved bone is studded with sequins, embellished with gold paint coloring, and floral rosettes are delicately colored in a pale pastel palette. Mother of pearl studs.Fan is in overall fantastic condition aside from one spit along the left side as photographed. Please see photos for condition and details and message with any questions.Measures approximately 7.5" long along handle. Measures about 14" wide open.
