I bought this antique lace over 20 years ago from an elderly man who had been in the import business. He had inherited the business from his father, and when he retired, he cleaned out the warehouse. In a trunk he found this lace, and although he had worked for his father all his life, he had never seen it before; he was not sure of the exact age, but it was very old when I got it, and was still wound on the original cards. I bought it all, and have just a little bit left of a few designs. All are very fine and delicate; the pictures you see are magnified many times, and the lace is so detailed, you need a magnifying glass to really see the intricate hand work. This one is ecru in colour, just over one inch wide at the widest point of the scallop, and has intricately woven butterflies, with a 3 dimensional body. This is the most beautiful lace I have ever seen! Please email any questions; I do combine shipping.
