Up for auction is an exquisite Art Deco vase made by the famous English pottery maker Charlotte Rhead during her tenure at Crown Ducal in the 1930's. This stunning vase has a mottled white and tawny brown background with a raised tube lined flower and geometric design in a blackish gray. C. Rhead is a Staffordshire contemporary of Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper and is highly collectible. Her items do not come up for auction that often in the US. The vase measures apx 6" in height and 4 3/4" in width. The vase is signed both Crown Ducal and C. Rhead with the number 152. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The dark spot that shows towards the rim in one of the pictures is a smudge of the tube line color under glaze and is only mentioned for accuracy purposes. This would be a great addition to any English pottery or Art Deco collector. I am happy to combine items for shipment in order to save you money.
