Elegant Edwardian Era Antique Vanity Set Circa 1900 Beveled Mother of Pearl Handles 14K Gold Filigree Chevron Endcaps & Collars This incredible vanity set was found carefully wrapped in tissue paper and nestled between old linens and lace, in a trunk that had been packed away in the 1930s. ( Evident by the newspapers that lined it). The items in the trunk were keepsakes of a woman who came from Germany to the United States during the late 1890s. Each piece is in excellent condition with absolutely no chips or scratches to the mother of pearl handles - and no dings or dents to the gold findings. With magnification a 14K can be found on each filigree collar w the impliment meets the handle. To preserve patina the pieces has not been cleaned or buffed. The marvelous thing about this set is that it was never engraved. Each end cap has a blank chevron on the front and back. Newly monagrammed, this would make a fabulous wedding gift for anyone with an appreciation for the high art style of the Late Victorian and Edwardian periods.
