Exquisite Famiille Rose Vase, early 20th century

This lovely Famille Rose Vase is Chinese and from the early part of the 20th century. This piece is from an estate. The previous owner has written on a note that was in the box: "Chinese Taste Decoration, Chinese early 20th century, six character mark of Chien Lung in double square. -- $950." --I presume this was derived from some sort of an appraisal she had obtained about 20 years ago. The piece had been bought by an uncle of hers in China in the 1920s. This beautiful vase is thin, translucent, very hard porcelain, about 8 1/4 inches high, about 4 1/4 inches wide; with its stand, the vase is about 9 3/8 inches high. It comes in its original old presentation box, which is covered in various silks, with both an inner padded panel to keep the vase safe and an outer sliding panel to open and close the box.The vase is in perfect condition except for a small part of the base, which was apparently broken and glued. This damaged area is about one inch long and a quarter of an inch high, but is hardly noticeable at a distance, and is virtually invisible when the vase is sitting in its stand. The original broken pieces were glued back into place, so t are no holes or gaps. The rest of the piece is perfect, I think, no nicks or scratches. The decoration on this piece is unbelievably fine and detailed. Very very delicate. The scene on it depicts birds in a garden, with bamboo and chrysanthemums. I am uncertain what the iconography implies. T are several finely painted borders around the neck. The box shows some age and wear, some damage to the outer fabric, but is in fairly good condition. One of the sides that contains the sliding panel is partly unglued---although it works fine. This is a gorgeous display piece for any room or breakfront. T is no reserve on this item.
