A most beautiful teapot in the Chapoo pattern by John Wedgwood made in 1850. It has gorgeous dark flow blue coloring with out any white showing. It makes an incredible display. T are no chips, no cracks, and no staining. It has the very clear Wedgwwood mark on the bottom of the pot. It was purchased at an estate sale and I have no idea as to its history, which spans one hundred and fifty seven years. I have carefully inspected the teapot and do not see any visual repairs. I have also held it under a black light and can not detect repairs. We have came to the conclusion if any repairs have been done they were accomplished by a wonderful craftsman. The pot is about 8 1/2" tall and about 9" wide, handle through spout. Petra Williams in her book on Flow Blue China rates the Chapoo pattern as an A+. The Tea pot is being offered at auction with a low starting price and no reserve.Shipping will be done at actual cost and insurance will depend upon selling price.
