This EXQUISITE BUFFET made in France circa 1880. We purchased it in Paris, France. The Buffet is made of Oak. It has a rich Golden Oak Patina. This is a very beautifully carved, French Empire Buffet. It is in very good condition. This is a gorgeous Empire Buffet. It has a Mirrored Gallery Back with a slight Cathedral Arch at the center. The Arching Pediment above the Mirror is carved with beautiful, life-like Fruit and Foliage Carving which includes Pomegranates, Apricots, Grapes and elegant Vines Leaves. The Pediment is deeply pronounced and carved with Horizontal Reeding. The Mirror is deeply beveled. The China that you display upon the top of the Buffet will be reflected beautifully. The Sides of the Mirror are carved with Fluting. The Top of the Buffet has a beautifully formed, carved edge with rounded corners. The Base consists of Two Drawers above Two Doors. The Drawers are carved with beautiful Laurel Leaves and Berries. They come with their matching, original Laurel Wreath Drop Pulls. The Drawers open to reveal roomy interiors for storing your fine silver settings. The Stile between the Drawers is carved with Foliage and Fruit. While a fine Bell Flower Carving flanks the Drawers on the outside. The Doors below are uniquely carved so that it appears that Flowers and Foliage are draped above the Slight Cathedral Arch created by the Raised Center Panel. The Pattern is gorgeous. The Doors open to reveal a roomy interior. T is a Shelf across the center. Your remaining China Settings will store beautifully. This Buffet retains all its' original hardware. This includes the Wreath Drop Pulls, Hinges, Key Plates, Lock, and Skeleton Key. The piece has a beautifully formed Apron and is supported upon voluptuous, Baluster Turned Legs. This beautiful French Empire Buffet has endless possibilities. It is so very fine it would look splendid in a Foyer. It would also make a fabulous Wine Cabinet. If you are a collector of very fine antique furniture, you are going to fine this piece irresistible.
