"The Chinese dragon is the epitome of power, courage, nobility and divinity with an all-enduring trait that it would overcome all obstacles till it achieves success. They are known to have terrestrial and celestial powers, which is why they are loved, worshipped and appeased. Their manifestations are used for the deeply profound to the simple things like children using dragon-shaped boats and kites. In sum, the dragon's significance is its control over the destiny of mankind." This is a magnificent parure consisting of a brooch, earrings and bracelet. They feature the most intricate silver work I have seen. Each is a masterful combination of intricate wirework, filigree and wire mesh. The eyes on the serpent appear to be red coral. I believe the set to be quite old. I am not very familiar with antique Chinese jewelry but one needs to just look at these pieces to know they are very special. Each piece is signed, "CHINA SILVER". The wrap bracelet is made of a round wire mesh, as is the body of the dragon in each piece. The rest of the head and other parts are done with tiny masterfully worked filigree and wire.The bracelet measures a little over 11" around. It stretches to fit around any part of the arm . The dragon's head on the bracelet measures 1-½" and the tail 1". The brooch features a c-clasp closure. It measures1-5/8" across and 1-¾" top to bottom. The earrings measure approx 1" across by 1"top to bottom. They are pierced with threaded posts. The tiny back screws on to a ½" of threading on the post to insure their safety. The set is in EXCELLENT condition. A fabulous group of very unique and fine craftsmanship. A wonderful addition to a vintage silver collection or a fabulous set to wear and enjoy. Sure to attract attention!
