It's never been cleaned or polished and that's a huge part of what collecting is all about. Clearly shows the effects of circulation but not overly so. Struck 58 years back and shows typical wear; still in solid shape. Nice coin for an album plus it's in raw, gradable condition. Take a good look at the views....it's all original and you can clearly grade this 1957D using the views provided. Note the rims are excellent. Certainly did it's tour of duty though and you can see the effects of circulation. The small amount of dirt and grit you see is actually good news. The coin has a documented numismatic value given it's original condition. Cleaned coins in raw, circulated status (and in almost any denomination) are essentially "junk silver" and worth melt value. It grades XF. Is a circulated, raw coin but gradable if you go that direction one day. Best suited for an album since the cost of grading exceeds the value of the coin at the current price of silver.
