Extraordinary 32" Antique Monstrance 22 Enamels + Case

We are offering at auction this extraordinary 32 inch solid brass monstrance. This circa 1940 work of art features 28 large clear cut glass stones around the luna and also 22 superb enameled medallions. The top one is the Agnus Dei and there are 12 pieces representing evangelists surrounding the luna. 6 of them are at the middle of the stem representing symbols such as the bleeding heart and the cross and the last three medallions are on the base located between the 3 beautiful statues. These enamels are of St-Peter, St-John and St-Paul. The three statues are all different. One is holding a chalice-like recipient, one holds a palm branch and one holds an anchor. It also features griffons at each feet, wheat branches and grapes with vines and leaves. It stands 32 inches tall and is 16 inches wide. It is all solid brass and possibly gold plated. The 3 inch luna and circular back glass are absent but this monstrance comes in its original carrying case. This remarkable piece is certainly fit for a cathedral or a serious collector's home.
