This is an outstanding ethnographic relic imported from West Africa. It's an extraordinary hunter's tunic with an array of powerful amulets attached all over the shirt, both front and back. These tunics were worn and kept by hunters as high magic. The amulets and fetishes on the shirt were woven in with the individual hunter's life and spirit. The items consist of pieces of horns and bones taken from prey as well as pouches and bottles of prepared herbs and sticks used in tracking game and maintaining balance with the natural surroundings. Little pieces of mirrors reflected evil spirits and negative energy and the cloth itself was tinted with earthly pigments. An extraordinary item, this tunic measures approximately 34" in height by 33" in width and should be treated with respect. Shipping is on me.
