For sale is an extremely rare 1948 Gandhi first day cover mailed to Edinburgh Scotland. On the envelope includes the full set of mint Gandhi stamps including a 1 1/5 as brown, a 3 1/2as purple, a12as green and finally a 10as red. To the side is the drawing of Gandhi and written below it says Indian Independence First anniversary 15 August 1948, Indian Posts &telegraph.The two posts marks say Bombay G. P. O 15 August 1948. It was sent to a Miss mildred Hodson, 29 Viewforth, Edinburgh, 10, Scotland. The envelope is prestine condition with no creases or discolouration. This is a highly valued piece of postage history with a huge catalogue value, and should not be missed. Any questions please ask This is the rarest first day cover in the Gandhi collection especially as it was sent overseas many were not.
