Dehati is proud to present antique, nomadic, late 19th century Yomut Turkoman main rug. This carpet is old and is an example of the so called "banded Yomut" design. Instead of the minor bands having AK-Naghsh pattern, they contain a meander pattern, from of running dog pattern. The major bands have the ak-gas pattern. in this rug, all the diagonals are stepped, a feature technically necessary to examples in the killim technique but simply transposed as a design feature. Symmetrically knotted in guite a high density, those 'banded Yomuts' are usually attributed to the Jaffarbai. It is bold, rare and absolutely gorgeous.
The condition is perfect, with full even pile all over. It was made with wool on wool foundation and both ends and selvages are intact with original killim at both ends. The size of this rug is: 7'-6"x4'.
Rug is offered at very reasonable price, so keep bidding on that with confidence. The value of this rug at any big rug galleries or any international auction houses is more seven thousand dollars, but I offer this rug at one third of its real value. This is a rare early Turkoman tent rug and would make a great addition for the collector of Turkoman rugs. I doubt that you will find others at this age, condition, and color combination for???!!!.
