PLEASE NOTE: FOR BUYERS OUTSIDE THE UK - WE ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL, PAID IN STERLING GBPA genuine, and very rare 1939 DATED (1939 PATTERN) LEATHER BINOCULARS CASE . This case has an inside measurement of 157mm x 120mm x 60mm from front to back. This pattern of binoculars case is well described on the Khakeeweb website, if you wish to reference it more. They were made by leather manufacturers in the uk at the very start of the war, in case there was a problem with the supply of the new 1937 pattern equipment. This example has a buckle to facilitate a 2 inch wide strap, so was probably made to fit onto a 1908 pattern waistbelt. They were mainly issued as training webbing and for Colonial Troops, although some of this 1939 pattern equipment is believed to have been used by the British Home Guard during the early part of the war. Theses leather binoculars cases are incredibly rare nowadays, and this is the first one we've had in, over the past 20 years. Issued and used. Good condition considering it's 75 years of age.
