This type of daguerreotype is for the advanced and discerning collector of early historic photographs or those interested in the origins of portrait photography. It is an exceptional item and worthy of a museum display. PLATE SIZE: 3 1/4 X 2 3/4 inches or 8.4 X 7 cm CASE SIZE: 3 3/4 X 3 1/4 inches Condition: The plate is unmarked (no hallmarks or manufacturers insignia) and is very heavy copper without clipped corners. The clasp is missing. The interior silk pad liner is of a deep purple/mauve colour. The image: A read more
