This extremely nice example of a Benin bronze is truely unique. This piece was collected some years ago in Africa and I have not seen one any w near as nice as this one since. The warrior is 14 inches tall carrying his staff and holding a chain that is controlling a leopard; the plateau is 7 inches in length and 4 inches wide. I have no idea how old this piece is but this is not an important issue; art is art no matter what type or catagory it is. As many of you that would be interested in collecting such a piece, the uniqueness is that it is highly probable that this piece was cast in the lost wax method which makes this piece so unique. This piece is complete, has never been repaired, and is in superb condition and heavy. This piece weights about twenty pounds which is why shipping is a bit expensive.. I will ship this piece to Canada and internationally based on point of destination.
