EXTREMELY RARE 1895 BING & GRONDAHL B&G CHRISTMAS PLATE

This is the very first year of the famous Christmas plates made by Bing & Grondahl of Denmark, titled "Behind the Frozen Window," by artist F.A. Hallin. The artist designed the plate to show the skyline of Copenhagen, and the front reads " Jule Aften 1895." Having no idea how popular these plates would become, B&G made only 400 total this first year. It is easy to see why these plates are so sought after and prized by collectors all over the world, when you consider that the few left have survived 113 years and two world wars. This one is not in perfect condition, but does not have any major damage. T is an area of discoloration between 9 and 10:00 that also shows a small area that may be a repaired paint chip . The discoloration is mainly restricted to the white part of the plate (the ice crystals on the window), but t is also a small area under the word "Jule" that shows a very faint darkening. I do not know what caused the discoloration, but it seems to me it would be a fairly simple restoration job. T is also a very small chip on the rim that sits against the wall on the back (NOT ON THE PLATE ITSELF) that is obviously not visible from the front. T is a very small scratch at the base of the second large building from the right, and a couple of typical but very tiny glaze pops. Other than these stated imperfections, t are no chips or cracks or other defects. The mark is "Royal China Works," with "Copenhagen" under that, both in green, then "B&G" with the number "824" under that, both in blue. I know that these plates, if you can find them and if perfect, bring at least $6,000. I really didn't know what was reasonable for one with minor defects, so am offering it with a "best offer" option. I will consider all reasonable offers, so please do not hesitate to submit. I had planned to keep this for my own collection, but have recently lost my job and so will be selling this and other very rare B&G Christmas plates (as well as Royal Copenhagen), so please check back if interested. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with questions, or if you would like to see more photos. I will ship anyw on the planet - international buyers please contact me for shipping and insurance charges.
