This is an AWESOME clock and extremely rare. The French made many single figural clocks but rarely made double figural clocks. This is a HUGE and HEAVY clock. It measures 27 1/2 inches tall by 12 inches wide at the base by 9 1/2 inches deep at the base. The marble the clock sits on is as mint as one can be for a clock that is in the neighborhood of 150 years old. I can find no chips or cracking on it at all. The face is flawless and not glazed or cracked. The statues are also is as mear mint condition as can be. The base metal parts are gilded and the gilding is again in great condition for the age of this clock.On the brass lable it reads: Vendange & Moisson Par Guillemin. On the round brass plate on the rear it reads: Fabrication France. Made in France Paris. Perhaps this was made for the export market as the rear plate is in English. I have no idea. If anyone does know I would love to be educated. The clock strikes brilliantly on the typical French bell. It runs well and strikes accurately. Clocks of this age can be temperamental as fas as running accurately when moved. I have moved one across the room before and it protested. You may need to tweak the clock upon arrival for accurate time keeping. I do not have a key for this clock. This clock is sold as found and is as accurately described as I can do. Please note: The price listed for shipping is JUST an estimate based on weight only and is NOT the final shipping and packing price. Upon the end of the auction I will take the clock to the UPS store w it will be professionally packed and fully insured. The cost will be determined based on your location. I HIGHLY recommend double boxing this clock for your protection. That will cost a bit more but well worth the preservation of this rare French clock. Please feel free to ask any questions.
