EXTREMELY SCARCE 2-VOLUME 1894 FIRST EDITION SET OF BOOKS - LETTERSOF LADY GRANVILLE THIS SET ROYALLY OWNED BY LUKE HENRY WHITE, BARON ANNALY

These are the original set of books printed in 1894. The actual title is “Letters Of Harriet Countess Granville, 1810-1845”. It is edited by her son, the Hon. F. Leveson Gower. This set was printed in London by Spottiswoode and Co. and published by Longmans, Green, & Co. The books are beautifully leather-bound with blue marbling on the covers, end papers, and edges. Volume 1 is 440 pages; Volume 2 is 421 pages with Index. 8vo.

"The author of these letters was the daughter of the fifth Duke of Devonshire and the beautiful Duchess, the sister of the sixth Duke, the wife of that Lord Granville who was long the English Ambassador to Paris, and the mother of that Lord Granville".

I don’t know how many copies of these books were originally printed, but there are no original copies on the market or sold in recent history and most are in famous libraries around the world. These are the rarest books in my collection, but I need to sell them at this time.

Condition: Very good. Binding is tight, pages are clean. No writing or tearing on pages. Slight edge and surface wear to covers as shown in the photos.
