Dazzling colors!! Antique Japanesse cloisonne Meiji era vase done in ginbari stype featuring two geishas amid pink flowers on a shining green background. The vase is round form with squat onion shaped body resting on a flared foot and having a long neck. The geisha faces and hands, as well as the flowers and leaves are done in standard, opaque closionne with good shading detail while the green background and blue geisha gowns are done in ginbari style. The ginbari surface is flat sterling silver foil coated with translucent enamels so that available light reflects back from the foil through the design colors. T are small pink flowers and vines hanging from the mouth of the vase and large pink and white tree peony flowers rising from the base between the geisha. The ginbari decorations on the blue gowns are amazing. The vase is 6" tall by 4" wide. Condition is excellent except for some crazing on the face of the geisha facing to the right (see picture # 4 or # 6). Ask all questions before bidding. Payment to be received within 7 days of close of auction.
