My fond memories of sitting next to my grandmother at the piano, singing songs along with her dear voice makes me consider them treasures. Children don't have to get into the current music, but they DO need music. These collections of simple, sweet old favorites can fill that need. They also can introduce & instill an early love for poetry. Large format. Simple piano music chorded for guitar. Some sample titles:Ten Little Indians, The Mulberry Bush,Down By the Station, Eensy Weentsy Spider, Jack and Jill, Where, Oh Where? Tom Glazer performed often with Burl Ives. He did the popular children's record On Top of Spaghetti. This collection is done in recognition of the fact that all children love to dramatize and that that action can help with understanding. "There are familiar fingerplay songs in this book, and also familiar fingerplays newly set to music, as well as some beautiful new songs and famous fold songs with brand new fingerplays.
