Ready to add to your growing collection of great stoneware is this phenomenal 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped F. B. NORTON & CO., WORCESTER, MASS. This is the mark of the F. B. Norton Pottery, being the mark of the founders, Frank Norton and Frederick Hancock (1858-1877). This beauty features a Large Floral from the Golden Age of American Stoneware Decorating ! The floral is made with a slip cup and drawn with lots and lots of detail. T are blossoms, leaves, and tentrils going everyw And look at the color of the cobalt--it speaks for itself. Truly a wonderful early example of the Norton Pottery's work. Measures 15.5" tall. Exceptional Condition . A tiny 1/8" flake on the inside of the spout, a short run stain on the back, and a couple of 1" glaze-only age lines. A 1/2" stone ping to the left of the decoration in the making. That's it!
