Ready to add to your growing collection of great stoneware is this phenomenal 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped F. B. NORTON & CO., WORCESTER, MASS. This is the mark of the F. B. Norton Pottery, being the mark of the founders, Frank Norton and Frederick Hancock (1858-1877). This beauty features a Large Floral from the Golden Age of American Stoneware Decorating ! The floral is made with a slip cup and drawn with lots and lots of detail. T are blossoms, leaves, and tentrils going everyw And look at the color of the cobalt--it speaks for itself. Truly a wonderful early example of the Norton Pottery's work. Measures 15.5" tall. Exceptional Condition . A tiny 1/8" flake on the inside of the spout, a short run stain on the back, and a couple of 1" glaze-only age lines. A 1/2" stone ping to the left of the decoration in the making. That's it! No outer spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or repairs. An Early and Wonderful Norton Jug with Detailed Cobalt Floral in Exceptional Condition.
