I've been to some wonderful estate sales & auctions over the summer & put aside some items I think would be appreciated. Check out my other auctions for some very special jewelry pieces & other items I think would make thoughtful gifts. Foree is a high end contemporary Dallas jewelry designer who creates sterling silver replicas of antique jewelry, as well as original pieces. Some of their pieces come from works by Unger Bros & other turn-of-the-century design houses that specialized in highly decorative Victorian, Art Deco & Art Nouveau creations. Necklaces like this sell for over $200.00 & are becoming very desirable among the ladies in Dallas. This necklace is an absolutely fabulous creation in sterling silver, reminiscent of the Art Nouveau pieces that were way over the top. This necklace will be so much fun to wear. I promise. Plus, it weighs a substantial 77.1 grams! A darling cherub hangs atop a large highly decorated medallion pendant with initials that look like SAL or SAS. I can't be sure, but that's the closest I can come because the writing has so much flourish, they could be almost anything. The initials are surrounded by feathers & flowers &, at the bottom, another sweet cherub. All of this hangs on a beautiful large link necklace with alternating plain & rope links. Even the large Foree clasp, which is also the tag, is very cool, with the name & a cross & sterling in a very 40s style font. T is a name engraved on the back of the medallion, but it is very faded & the rest could easily be buffed out by a jeweler. T is plenty of sterling, so it won't end up thin at all. Even if this was too much for you all together, a jeweler could snip the large ring behind the cherub to remove the medallion so you would have a much simpler cherub necklace & an awesome luggage tag or key chain in sterling silver, with your initials on it. T is also a jump ring for the chain that attaches to a ring nearer the top on the back of the cherub that is not solid, so you could take it all apart & have a gorgeous large link chain necklace, & use the cherub &/or the panel for other things. The possibilities are endless with this amazing piece of contemporary sterling in a fabulous Nouveau style. The condition is excellent, with no damage or flaws & very few, very light scratches. It does need a bit of polishing, however it does also have a beautiful, soft patina as it is. The chain is 26 inches long, each link is over ½ inch. The cherub is 1 inch high & 1 ¾ inches across. The medallion is 2 1/3 inches in diameter. All together, it will hang an impressive 16.5 inches!
