Fab Vintage Liberty 'Bauhaus' silk scarf w/ defects. This beautiful Liberty scarf named ' Bauhaus' design was originally produced in 1969 by Sarah Collier.Who as design consultant of Liberty's fabrics .Was part of the team of 1970's Liberty's revival and interests in designs of the 1930's.This design was part of an ideal opportunity to celebrate the work of the Bauhaus designers. This design was adapted from a tapestry by Gunta Stolzl c 1927-28.Collier produced the abstract,geometric,patchwork-like design called 'Bauhaus'. Then modified in 1972 for use on linen and cotton union furnishing fabric,it challenged the public's preconception of Liberty fabrics. This scarf is very much a Liberty collector's item. The photographs are truly represented of the colours,which is rare in this colourways of pastel purples,powder blue,lilac,peppermint green,lemon.,white and turquoise, with a violet border. In the right hand corner of the scarf,is printed 'Liberty of London' .All silk - Made in England. Machine stitched hemmed edges. A white label attached with Liberty -all silk - made in England. In good condition,THERE ARE TWO DEFECTS,A SMALL TEAR MEASURES 3MM,AND A SMALL MARK ALL CAN BE SEEN IN PIC 5 & 6. Measures 27 x 27 inches approx.
