First of all my photos of this quilt are a disappointment--but I guarantee this quilt will not be! It is just great, a real beauty but you may have to use your imagination a little to see what the photos don't pick up.. The first photo is right with the coloring: one side is a rich peach cotton the other is side is all white cotton and the handquilting is done with a floss in a mint green shade . Very much a 40's color combination . Because floss was used the stitching is just 5-6 per inch but don't let that fool you--its is beautifully done in tiny even stitches and anything smaller would be lost in the quilt. The stitching patterns are unique and wonderful , the center is a medallion somewhat like a snowflake. All along the edges are looping scroll patterns. In the 4 corners t is a fleur de lys. I can't imagine just tracing out the quilting lines for this kind of project, let alone the hours it had to take to quilt it! The quilt has only one flaw and that is a very light storage line across the center fold. In the picture w my finger is pointing to the crease, you might be able to catch a glimpse of it. Very faint, even less noticable on the peachside. Otherwise this quilt is just perfect , no holes stains or wear. Its all cotton with a thin cotton batting and measures 80" x 90" so it is a nice size for a full or queen bed.
