Listed is a gorgeous Faberge limited edition Swan Egg. The egg is constructed of Limoges porcelain set with solid sterling silver fittings finished in 22K gold. The Egg is a reproduction in sterling and porcelain of the Imperial Swan Egg given by Tsar Nicholas II to his mother Dowager Empress Marie Fedorovna in 1906, the year of her 40th wedding anniversary. The finish is in lilac adorned with a hand-applied gold leaf ribbon motif. The center clasp closing the egg is an Imperial Russian Eagle crest. The Egg stands approximately 10" tall and is approximately 8" wide at the center. The surprise inside the egg is a large solid sterling silver swan finished in 22K gold. The swan is approximately 2.5" wide by 2.5" tall. The egg is in excellent condition. Some slight scuff marks are noted on the interior upper lid of the egg; these resulted from the prop bar which holds the lid open (please see photos). This piece is no longer available to the public. It comes with a large, interlocking, blue velvet Faberge case along with the Certificate of Authenticity. The egg is #59 out of an edition of 100. The original retail price was $4,000 and it is now priced to sell! Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping, insurance and handling fees.
