This week we are offering an Exceptional Group of HUGE Antique Italian Silver Ex-votos! As you probably already know, we are great admirers of these fabulous Church Offerings. As we travel around Italy and visit some of the most important and beautiful Churches in the world, we often discover the walls of the side altars covered from floor to ceiling with these exquisite Ex-Voto offerings. The Ex-Voto is offered to God or a Saint as a form of prayer or wish.... most often as thanks for an answered prayer. The tradition of a votive offering has been around for Centuries. These are the largest Ex-Votos we've ever been able to present to you on Ebay. We have two spectacular Flaming Heart Ex-Votos, the first measures 20" (52 cm) and the other is 15" (38.5 cm), t is Ex-Voto of a Madonna and Child, plus a Leg and two heart Ex-Votos - one of which is hollow and a prayer can be placed inside! IN THIS AUCTION we are very pleased to offer the RARE and Magnificent 20 1/2 inch (52.5 cm) high by 13 1/2 inch (35 cm) wide Antique Italian Silver Flaming Heart Ex-voto. This piece is resplendent with layers and layers of intricate metal work. The center Flaming Heart is adorned with a golden "M" representing the Madonna or Mary and a three-dimensional Crown. A beautiful Cross emerges from the flames while the Heart is surrounded by the symbols of the Passion of Jesus Christ. The rest of this fantastic piece is decorated with winged Cherubs, gorgeous swirls and large Rosettes. It is in fantastic condition, as you can see from the photographs. We have not attempted to clean or polish this piece; we offer it to you as we found it with its original antique patina. Add this exceptional Ex-Voto to your collection of Religious Artifacts.
