Fabulous ANTIQUE Sterling FISH SERVER by Old Gorham * With its roots buried deep in Greek Mythology, Apollo`s Bay (the Laurel leaf) is the source of the well-known culinary herb `The Bay Leaf`. While in the olden days, conquerors and poets, of heroic or poetic fame, wore wreaths of laurel leaves, today it is one of the most sought after culinary spices for flavouring soups, casseroles, stews, fish, meat, and marinades. I am offering a gorgeous Antique Sterling Fish Server made by Gorham of Providence, Rhode Island. This fabulous Fish Server is decorted with a unique 3-D Female Hand holding a bouquet of Laurel leaves and berries. One half of one of the leaves is missing, but it is not that noticeable. From the gorgeous hand is a long-stemmed handle which flourishes into an Art Noveau decoration on the bowl.This fish server measures 10 7/8'' in length and is in very good condition except for a slight dent on the underside of the bowl. The underneath side of this server is engraved "R.C.C." in Old English script. The Old Gorham mark and Sterling is marked on the backside of the handle.Best of luck!
