NO RESERVE!!! Recently a barometer of this type brought over $3600 on Ebay...mine will be offered at no reserve...and its better than the one that brought that huge sum of money..why??? Simply the carving. Mine not only is carved with a grouse but its carved on the right with a rabbit as well. Full figural dog head at the top and a bunch of nuts or fruit at the base. Wood I belive is a combination of walnut and pine..hard to tell cause of the intricate carving. HUGEMONGOUS size nearly 28" tall. Condition is remarkable. In the short time Ive had it, everything seems to function...you may have to have minor adjustments done to get it perfect, but all the mechanics are t No structural damage or repair!!!!! I would grade it a 95% out of 100%. Couple of minor expected shrink hairlines to the wood, the themometer is intact and the white section which is procelain over metal has a couple of crazing lines visible only when I put my glasses on. The exterior sensor metal hand has some bends in it..Im told not a big deal and easily replaced if your anal about something being perfect. Simply an outstanding antique, circa 1910 or so, German black forest barometer ready to hang and enjoy. Shipping, handling, is $28 domestically. Insurance is additional.
