I am pleased to offer this Very Beautiful Antique Cut Glass Perfume Bottle with English Sterling Lid. It is a large size bottle measuring 5-1/2" tall and has a diameter around the center ball of approx.4". The round cut glass ball base features a lovely cut design with an 8-paneled area on top and a starburst covering the rounded base. T is a little faceted top stopper that fits into the ground neck of the bottle. It is a nice snug fit and t is a tiny "9" etched into the side that matches a tiny "9" etched into the base of the perfume bottle.Over the stoppered bottle fits a fabulous Art Nouveau ball shaped sterling silver lid. It has an English hallmark showing the following: An anchor - indicating Birmingham, England A Lion - The English mark indicating STERLING The Letter H - lower case in frame indicates the exact date 1900 The letters C H in a rectangle. Showing registered London makers mark for Charles Hougham ( London - reg. 1769) The sterling cap has a foam-type padding on the inside that fits into a metal lip allowing the cap to fig snuggly and gently over the bottle. The sterling lid has nice weight and is in MINT CONDITION with no indentations, scratches or defects of any kind. The bottle is in excellent condition, with no residue. T is a very tiny fleabite on the facet of the little stopper. Not at all noticible but I mention it for accuracy. The entire piece is very impressive. It is larger than most perfumes, would display beautifully and would make an exquisite addition to an antique perfume collection. Insurance is optional but recommended.
