Images A very fine mid C19th ornate gilt gesso frame. This superb museum quality frame measures 32.5in x 24.5in (rebate measurements are 24.2in x 16.2in) The frame has a beautiful old patina, typical of an item 100 years old, and is in fine condition with no losses. The moulding is 4.5in wide (6in at the corners). Frames of this type certainly appear to cost hundreds of pounds within the antique retail sector. Ideal as an interior decorators piece for a painting or large mirror.
