This auction is for a fabulous Art Nouveau style hand painted Nippon vase. It stands 7 1/2" tall and is 5 1/4" in diameter at the base. It is decorated in very heavy Moriage--applied beaded porcelain. T are two large brownish Moriage irises in the first photo with green iris leaves and then a painted fuchsia colored flower. On the other side--photo two, the iris is painted. T are what appear to be ginko leaves in moriage all over. The two handles are typical Art Nouveau and have gilding though some is worn off, The item is unmarked but t is absolutely no question of its origin or age--probably around 1900. T are ever so slight breaks in the biscuit but is it is remarkably great conditon.. It is a truly a stunning piece. These items came out of an estate in Collinsville Illinois when my clientâe(tm)s aunt died and the house was emptied and sold in the early 1990âe(tm)s, She had many fine family things from her mother and grandmotherâe"items dating to the late 1800âe(tm)sâe"i.e. Columbian Exposition souvenirs and even letters from the Civil War. I will be offering several pieces of carnival glass. I am doing the research and trying to describe the items as accurately as possible. If you have input or questions or requests for more photos, I will be happy to oblige. I have a return policy so the buyer can bid in confidence.
