W@W - This vintage necklace is just spectacular. This multi-strand necklace is the perfect accessory as summer approaches. T are multiple strands of beads - black jet glass and I believe the orange-tan beads are natural coral. This necklace is unsigned, but I bought it along with other pieces (which were signed) by Gerda Lynggaard. Lots of MONIES (older) pieces were identified by a hang-tag only. This necklace measures (approximately) 30" in length. Multiple strands of coral, are clamped together with brass fittings on both sides. The coral strands continue and the lower center of this piece has gorgeous black jet glass beads. It is certainly a big, bold and dramatic piece. I have looked as some of the older "Monies" pieces, and they did use a hook-type metal clasp, which they later replaced with a hook-type plastic clasp. I would guess that this piece is from the mid to late 1980s. *MONIES is a world-class jewelry firm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Although this team began their profession (and personal) collaboration in the 1980s, the company was opened at its present location in 1994 by Nikolai Monies and his wife, Danish designer Gerda Lynggaard. Lynggaard is world-known for her large scale, dramatic jewelry designs, most using natural materials (ivory, bone, horn, wood, copper, etc.). Successful US bidder shall pay a flat read more
