PROUD MOM OF A U.S. MARINE
This is a wonderful white ironstone pitcher by Alfred Meakin. It has a bulbous rather unusual and majestic shape. The area below the top edge is embossed with lovely bell shaped flowers similar to a lily or hyacinth with vines or leaves that are slightly scrolled. The handle has a very unique elegant form. The pitcher is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It is bright white in color with a tendency towards the slight bluish hint and the glaze is thick and glossy with no crazing. T is one small drip of glaze that has a few tiny pinprick specks of ash from the kiln. The pitcher stands 11 1/2" high and measures 9 3/4" across from the spout to the handle. The spout is beautifully embossed under the top edge with a piecrust or blanket stitch style pattern. A beautiful and quite unusual large pitcher in fabulous condition! PLEASE CHECK MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE WHITE IRONSTONE!!! Payment accepted by PayPal, money order or personal check. Payment due within 10 days of auction's close. Buyer pays shipping plus appropriate insurance.
