Braekstad. Franklin Library first printed this edition in 1982. [8], 318, [2] p.: 27 black and white illustrations by Hans Tegner, which appeared in Fairy Tales and Stories by Hans Christian Andersen, published by The Century Company, of New York, in 1900. Hans Christian Harald Tegner (1853-1932), Danish artist and illustrator, who trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (where he became a professor), was best known for his illustrations of the literary works of Ludvig Holberg and Hans Christian Andersen. 23.5 cm. (9.25 inches). Brown cloth with gilt embellished spine title and gilt embellished front and back covers. No dust jacket, as issued. Color illustrated endpapers. All page edges gilt. Set in Bembo, a Roman typeface, with the display face Chevalier and printed on Franklin Library Vellum Cream archival paper.
